The Peavey Tube microphone is not a Large Diaphragm (membrane).
It has a rather high self noise and the system is based on an electret capsule.
It would serv as a solid platform for some experimentation as the power suppluy is very robust and thebody of the mic is large enough to hold about any capsule made.
The sound is bright and clean when used in a close miking situation, but it does not sound like any of the other tube microphones I have used. |
