Ive been asked to host some football games as part of a DJ gig I have, and I would like to run the audio from the TV through my PA. Ive got a Yamaha MG166CX mixer but I cant figure out how to make this work. I tried taking the red/white/yellow cable (like you use on your vcr to tv) and used the red/white going into CH 13/14, but it wouldnt come through the speakers....I'm assuming there are switches and what not that have to be used, however I dont know what those are to make this work. Embarassed

Any insight is appreciated...TIA

That's pretty much it. Out of the TV into the board just like your decks. It is probably just something silly like you are connecting the RCA cables to the TV front input instead of an output. I do that type of thing too often. Check the TV manual if you can.

True, I will look into it. The bar already had the cable coming out of the TV, I assumed it was correct. I'll check it out.

Not all TVs have external speaker or line level outputs. They may however have external input capability? You don't need that. So it's really best to take it out of a VCR output. You'll save yourself a lot of problems utilizing a cheap VCR. God knows everybody has thrown out most of their VHS units, so it should be a problem? If you need a digital tuner, you might need to purchase one for your computer? Or a converter box that provides, consumer line level outputs. You're going to need it/the feed, close to your sound system because longer than 3 meter (10 feet) will cause you terrible hum/buzz issues with unbalanced feeds. So don't go there without balancing transformers, transformer isolated direct boxes, etc.. Not a simple as you think it is to provide a quality feed. Be careful of horizontal sync screaming through your PA system. Low pass filter at 14kHz will prevent most women from running out the exits screaming.

Most sporting events are broadcast in stereo so, enjoy.

Football is watched on large screens with satellite feeds. Find the tuner box and pick up the audio from that?
