Hi.For those of you TV and Motion Picture engineers...
What are your favorite general SFX Libraries? Why?
I am too far to try them and there's so much offer... I am looking for something with great sound quality, versatility and dramatism.My experience is Sound Ideas.Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

hi there,what is the must-have soundlibrary to start with, (or) the one where i get the broadest range of effects in real professional quality for my money?same for science-fiction-movies?any source for free f/x-samples.thx.

If you don't want to buy 5000 cd's in a set just to peel off a couple sfx a day, there is a cool website that allows you to purchase and download samples a la carte. Check out Sonomic. Tell em recording.org sent ya.

ang,i've checked out sonomic, but what i heard so far doesn't convince me-especially the f/x regarding sci-fi (sounding like taken from a series of the 50s!) anyway, thx for the tip :w:

I'm a music guy, and always have problems like this:
We need an airplane sound effect for a track. But the sound fx on disc for an airplane are like 5 minutes long, which is sometimes longer than the song itself. Anyone got any good sources for short sounds?
www.sound-effects-library.com is the best I've seen, and has a great way of searching/demoing/purchasing sounds.
