I've been given the opportunity to purchase Cubase Essential 4, but I have previously been using SX3. I found a file compatibility chart that says that I cannot open SX3 files in Essential 4, but I also saw somewhere else that said it's possible to open the files, but I'd lose some data.
i use sx3- i do not think you can open them in Essential 4. i think you must have read that sx3 files can be opened in CUBASE 4.
not for nothing...but sx3 rocks...i have never felt the need to upgrade or change. i think the only difference is in some extra vsts that come with the new software, and a tweak on the visual side.
