That sounds weird as.
The drums are a bit crushed, the only thing I can hear is the hats.
And something sounds like pick scratch in the left speaker (right depending on which way I'm facing).
Cool vibe though. Reggae on. |

I tracked the drums way too hot, so that probably doesn't help. This was my first attempt in my studio, so I am happy I got the vibe right. It is a good thing nobody paid me for it.
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!

improvements? Yeah, you need to learn how to record drums and then learn how to record reggae drums. To your mother it's a reggae song. To your father it's a reggae song. But it ain't no reggae in New Jersey and not even as far south as Washington DC. You need that solid low end punch. And I don't mean tooty frooty. But then, this is a first attempt and you HAVE SUCCEEDED. That is, after listening to this my eyes rolled around in my head and I had to smoke something.

don't you want your snare panned center?
and I would use less effects on the vocal for my taste.
the singer appears to have a good voice and doesn't need all that
i love reggae |

I completely remixed the song, with what I think are much better results. First and foremost I brought the drums and bass front and center. (thanks Remy) Stupid, thank you for the compliments on my voice, but unfortunately I had to use some pitch correction.... so I just through some fx on there to help 'hide it'. These fx are also a bit different the 2nd time around. Here is the link to the new version:

I'm glad some people enjoy some of my music. If you guys want, let me know how the 2 versions compare. Ya mon! |

hey dude how you doing, well i'll tell you, i'm not an expert on reggae music, eventhoug, i have listen it very much, i think you are achieving some real sound, but, i'll give the drums a little bit more of punch, i listen the snare a little back, could you bring it front a little bit? i think, one of the things you could make sound better is the drum, becuz, if you think, reggae is about drums, bass and rythm, you got most of it there, althoug you can get a better drum sound from it, and that would be all, to be your first recording, as the master remy said, you have succeede! very good brother' |

Thanks, I am most likely going to end up rerecording it one day. I recorded every track way too hot, so hopefully that will help the final product next time.
Glad you enjoyed it! |
