Could you guys let me know what you think of the recording, the performance, and the song?
I am happy with the vocal quality, but my main question is with the instruments, they kind of sound thin and muddy at the same time. Any eq, panning, or compression suggestions?
Thanks, I hope you guys enjoy!

Can't hear you either.
Your link gave a page load error. Maybe it's a slash not a dot. |

I hope that's your link.
"Experimental / Roots Music"
What can I say. It's different.
I like the music, sounds rounded and stuffed into a pocket that reminds me of old school tape players. The vocal is slightly too processed for my liking, a bit to much ambiance and room mud.
Sounds like you enjoyed yourself, which is the key
Rock(experiment and root) on! |

Thanks for the reply and compliments!
I am going to rerecord everything, I rushed through the whole process.
I believe I put the mics too close to the ukulele. I used two cheap nady pencil condensers, and I put them only a few inches from the instrument. I think that's why the uke sounds muddy.
I actually recorded everything through those two mics, I will experiment more when I have more time. Any tips that I could use?
The only thing I used on the voice is compression and reverb, so I will try and back off those a bit when I redo it all.
I know the voice is pitchy in parts, but I am really happy with my overall performance.
Thanks for listening! |
