Nice work on this one.
As usual your voice is distinctive, the production is slick and I like the drums that kick in for the last few mins.
Some rocking tight times with drums 'n bass.
Enjoy yourself and rock on. |

I was perusing the board and I JUST read your reply to person who started using their new studio:
"It was short"
lol ... I nearly coughed out my coffee (decaf ... being EST ... and I'm ready for bed) all over my keyboard.
You, bud ... are the king of succinct.
How's your thing going these days?

btw ... this was an exercise in both writing and production.
The first passage came to me in a dream ... in total. I woke that morning and recorded from memory from my dream. Never mind that what I heard coming out of the radio in my dream was an 80's girl band ... (Hence, American Dream)
But someone commented that it sounded like it should be "more" ... and so I wrote "more".
Then ... I took it even a step further ...
If one notes the production differences in each sequence ...
The first section is done one way, the next another, the third completely different ... and yet I attempted to deliver a consistency, so that they moved from one to the next in a relatively uninterrupted flow ... perhaps not as smooth as the backside of Abbey Road, but I don't have the same help ... as everything here was performed and done by only me ... and I'm not Paul McCartney.
I'm just sayin' ... lol ...

My thing's going ok, beats staring into a cathode.
I enjoyed the three part nature of the song. Reminds me of a time when music was used to tell a story, not fill 2:30s of program between adds. |

True that, G.
Frankly, I can't listen to popular radio these days. It irritates me.
I call it the "Disneyfication" of music.
They grab them young on the Disney channel, and train them that "Disney Music" is the BEST!!!
It's beyond bubble gum. It's pure sugar.
So as their audience gets older, their musical diet leans heavy towards the overly sweet stuff.
And that's not rock and roll. That's fluff stuff by Disney graduates.
Which is why I can't listen to the radio these days ...
