hey guys I got a Great River Mp2nv going into a Ua2192.
Which mic in your experience sounds sweeter with the Great River Mp2nv

Aplication is acoustic guitar, vocals, and percussion.

-TLM 49

-Bock U195

Sweeter? How do I know what you think is sweeter? How would you know what I think is sweeter?

Why don't you ask yourself WHAT YOU THINK and what you feel about them as you will be one using them. Try them both and let your self be the judge. That is what you should do.

What? Haven't heard them?

You wouldn't be that naive and clueless to just buy a mic based on what one or a few people say in a internet forum? Or would you?

listen bud, if i had the opportunity to try them that would be great but I dont know anyone who has these mics , nor there is a place for me to rent and try em out myself. For this reason I posted what I did for anyone who had in fact listened to these mics or had owned one in the past with a Great River. These forums are for people to help people based on experiences right. If there is nothing nice you can post for someone who is beginning, then dont post nothing at all. Just remember you yourself were also a beginner.

Chill out.

People are helping you, trying to tell you they are both good mics and the differences are only sweeter to an individuals ear. So yeah... Apples or Oranges, guy.

I have never tried the TLM49 but I`m really satisfied with my U195 (got 2 of them) I have the old Soundelux U195, not the Bock, but from what I hear it`s basically the same mic.

If u check out www.torleifmadsen.com , song number 10 "hallelujah" (jeff buckley cover) was recorded in my studio.

Vocals: U195 through a Great River Mp2nv
guitar: U195 / Royer 121 through a Great river Mp2nv

I use the U195 a lot... mostly Vocals, drum OH and ac.guitars

Twood,
checked out your track "Halleuja" that you posted on your link here. Wow, thanks for sharing! That sounds great! I guess they don't call it great river for nothing, huh? A great improvement from the normal mic pre.
I have been thinking about upgrading to a decent mic pre and I am quite impressed by the the improvement these make on the final product. Im starting to think about the API 3124+ and this great river MP2nv and when I will be able to spend the dough. There is many lower cost mic pre available, however there is the quality issue. I need quality, to me its worth the extra $. Its the difference between good and Great! Its very interesting to get a taste of what's hot and fresh out there on this forum.

Thanks, Bret
