You are heading in the right direction. Meet some people. Learn some basics from the forum, internship, start working with musicians. Meet some people . Get some equipment and a few decent clients. Oh, and meet people. Be prepared to buy a few beers after some shows, or spend some time just following some of the new people you meet around if they let you.

And thats all of my experience in the last two and a half years. And I just lurk here a few hours a day. Just about everyone here was new once. Just keep your manners and you will learn a lot.

As a side note, if you are serious, be prepared to spend a lot of money. Gear is one of the worst addictions known to man, and it is still completely legal

Hahaha, right on with that statement. At least you can reuse gear oppose to snorting it up your nose and it being lost forever!

The Aztecs used to drink urine(their own or someone elses) to get a second use of the psilicybe in the mushrooms they took the night before.

Yes. I have a plethora of absolutely useless information.

Why don't you send me a urine sample? Maybe you have discovered the new way to illegally transport contraband? Through the sewer. I think that's already been done? It's called death metal. I'll be the first to protest on Capitol Hill against any death metal reactors. You'll be able to recognize me as I'll use an old yellow MCI looseleaf folder manual to a JH 110 tape recorder to stand on so that everybody can see me. I'll also be wearing my Purple & Silver makeup to complement my green & orange hair. Look for me.

Scientifically trying all samples

There's always the cocaine suppository.

If the coke balloon don't pop and numb your bum, you'll need Preparation H after the delivery......and a vat of disinfectant.

Hey, I didn't realize your from Mass. I lived in western mass until the beginning of 2008. Grew up in Westfield. Why don't you look into an internship at a local studio. You can go to Zing of course, go Killswitch. But there is also a sweet studio in West Springfield. Here's the website.

www.rotaryrecords.com

The owner is nice and if you can get an internship there you won't just be getting coffee. I don't know if the construction is done yet but it must be close now. He hasn't updated his website in awhile but the space is very nice.

While you're learning what you can from other people save up some money. Try out different softwares and see what you like. I wouldn't rush into spending any money just yet. Especially because you'll find it's better to invest in quality over cheap gear you'll grow out of. Take advantage of networking like everyone has said.

Respectfully,
Christopher

As long as your not a prick it shouldn't be a problem. Mr. Amerman is really nice. He let me try to mix a blues song when I was a noob and then showed me what he would of done. Give it a try.

Respectfully,
Christopher
