I'm interested to be able to comment on this piece of news.
http://recording.org/article497.html
Is it cool to just make shit up and post it in a news section, written about yourself by yourself?

I don't mean to be mean, just interested in what flies in this world.
And indeed, what attracts flies.

Has anyone had any experience with Eddie?

The statement at the bottom reads:

\"Posted by: admin on...\"

I don\'t think it was Eddie who did this Wink

I *think* that means it was written by Eddie (aka music_guy) and submitted for publication. Then a RO admin cleared it and made the post. At least that is how I think it works - different from these here forums. (see http://recording.org/modules.php?name=Submit_News)

Personally, I would rather see him pay for a banner ad, but that is up to him and RO.org.[/url]

That\'s what I mean Wink The final word came from the admin of this website.

I wrote a piece about myself 6-7 months ago, positively glowing! It was my resume Wink

I approve of this statement.

(is anyone else having an issue with the escape character showing up in random places in your post(s)?)

Maybe it\'s after the apostrophe \' and the quotation mark \". \'Sup with that? And multiple backslashes? First I lose Tony Romo for three weeks now this?

I've posted this from time to time.

Its a positive way to keep self promotion out of the forums and give member a good place to promote what they are up to. I discourage musicians/ studios from spending their money on banners.

Recording.org doesn't charge musicians / engineers / producers / studios to run "articles" in our News section. Feel more than welcome to tell the world about your band, your studio, your album etc. Its tough enough to make a living in the business, we don't need to cash in on members. So, if I can help the members, I do what I can. I'm a musician for many years.

RO is an awesome way to help get your website indexed. This article was posted a few days back and is now linked here http://www.google.ca/search?q=Eddie%27s+Music+World&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
If you leave a link in an article, google should follow your link.

Anyone that wants to promote what they are doing via that News section, you are more than welcome.

Regarding content there: Everything is buyer beware, although, I do try and filter things that don't look good from my POV. If something smells, Id hope someone would let it be known.

Cheers!

PS

The slash issue is being looked into. Ya, site seems smooth yes...
