· Sweetwater To Give Away $25,000 Mic Collection

That's the news heading.

Read the article, it's interesting. Enticing even.

Go to the website, search around and find the competition entrance page.

Read the form you need to fill out.

Notice how it has a space for you to enter your country but it's not bold therefor not required?

Notice the rules for the competition state you need to be an American resident?

Isn't this a Canadian site?

How is this news?

What kind of spamming monster wants world wide entrance only to pay out to the home team?

Never shopped at Sweetwater. But I do have a credit card and a postal address.

THERE ARE 5.7 BILLION POSSIBLE CUSTOMERS YOU ARE PISSING OFF.

They say that all publicity is good publicity. It's true.

That's strange. Sweetwater always seemed pretty cool to me. Every time I order they are incredibly friendly and they even put pieces of candy inside the box with the order. They assign each customer a personal rep and he/she calls you a week or two after the order just to make sure everything has arrived intact. I love Sweetwater, although they are a little more pricey, but I can't imagine them selling their customers out. Weird. Sad

I also don't mind paying for service. And I have only ever heard good things about Sweetwater.
Also, their product range puts _everyone_ else to shame.

I'm just pissy because they're so much better than any retail option I have in Australia.

They are advertising a competition on the WORLD wide web. They let the WORLD enter, but only pay out to the home team.

I'm hoping it's for some reason like "We can't go giving cool mics away to Johnny Foreigner what if he records something that competes directly with our recording industry?"

Smells like US "Lamb Tariffs" and Clintons' "Global Market"... But I haven't got mandate (self imposed of course) to rant about that. Not hear at least.

Well, I just entered and I didn't know anything about it until reading this post... so if by some crazy chance I win (and I've never won anything in my life except for tickets to Top Gun, that's my luck) I'll split them with you. Smile

I hope you win and there is no need to split it with me.
I only got two usb pre's.

It's more the chance to stir up some Gumbo. Razz

I've had nothing but good experiences from Sweetwater as well. The shipped my out a pre-amp with bent rack ears (still unclear how that happened) and I called them about it and a new one arrived in 3 days, well before I shipped the bad one back.

I have also entered the contest but since the only mics I'd be willing to share probably wouldn't be worth the cost of shipping from Seattle WA to Australia I will not make any promises.....

I know you are.

It means both I shouldn't rant about it here and if I did you wouldn't hear it anyways. Because it wouldn't fit into the mold/pattern of what gets discussed in this forum.

There is nothing grammatically wrong with the sentence.

You just choose to read it a particular way which requires a different spelling. Your choice. Just like typing what I did was my choice.

Erradic isn't a word, but it could be error dick. Pointed at me and you'd be on the money.
I would rather spend all day here giving shit back and forth to one another using odd semantics and weighted sayings, than actually do any work.

Or maybe this is work. Who knows, payment in kind, been good times, so many lines. What did you find?
I seem to be a jerk, it shows. Payment is kind, been some times with too many lines. Hope you didn't mind.

damn. -d +t

It's a word puzzle of sorts. My grandfather asked me to explain what it meant when I was a little boy. I never figured it out...he had to tell me what it meant.

BTW...Which of the mic lockers would you (anyone here) rather have, Package 1 or Package 2?

Me? I guess I'd have to go with Package 1 because those seem to be more "standard" mics that everyone has and is familiar with. I sort of know what I'm getting with them. However, the experimental side in my wants Package 2 because the mics are different, maybe not so widely used.
