Hey guys,
I'm about to get a new preamp and am looking for any suggestions.
So far I'm looking at either a neve portico half rack (pre/comp), a UA la-610, or maybe an api.
Any thoughts appreciated. |

You can always tell whose either...
a. working at his day job
or
b. been banned from the studio by his wife cause it's the weekend
...by the number of posts they make in an hour.
Opps! |

I have no job .
And "nothing" better to do than spam forums.
That was a silly posting spree now I think about it. |

Code,
Lighten up. I'm just being bratty today. All in good fun, ya know.
The challenge was: could either of us get all 10 threads to say "Last Post by ________" at the same time.
Childish, I know. I need some real work to do at work! Opps, now I've gone and done it - the sh*t is gonna hit the fan.
It just did... I have to go clean up a mess in the men's room.
Peace & Grace |

Hey guys,
Anyone have a suggestion about the preamps I've listed, I'd appreciate that, and my price range is listed by the ones I've listed.
thanks |

Codenyc,
My sincerest apologies for running away with your thread. I have nothing of value to contribute as I've never owned or used outboard pres. |

Awedone.
I wish more people would treat the forums like yourself.
It's about time some people entered into some discussion around here. Even if it is just to get your name in lights the only way you know how.
And we need random sarcasm. I miss Ms. David.
And yeah, who cares about jacking threads like this. The OP _STILL_ hasn't given any information which could help us to help him. |

I think the point that they're getting at is that you haven't really given any information about what you're recording or what you're trying to accomplish.
There's a lot of ground out there..jazz, punk, classical, hip-hop, etc. Looking for big guitars, clean horns, phat drums....?? |

I don't have a photogenic mind...so I can't remember, is that $500 or $1500? |

Each pre will have value for different things. There's enough collective knowledge around here to work out an exact pre if you'll tell us what you want to record.
And for once, "anything" is a valid answer - clean pres are easy to find rather than something that suits a particular purpose. |

i suggest you find another hobby, or buy all three and use them when you desire each of their "flavors" if you can afford all three, then revert back to my first suggestion, FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, |
