hey hey!
now, i know there's alot of you conservative jerks out there that would give not very helpful answers such as -"just get a good drummer" blah blah...etc.- but let's face it.- now a days people just care about getting a more professional sound. and i'm open to any thing that could help.

it's not that our drummers bad (he's quite good with a very catchy in your face style), i've just been noticing that the snare is rushed a lil ahead of the click on some parts of the song- enough that it's noticeable (atleast to me)

ok. for my question:
is there any beat quantizing VST software out there that would be compatible with Adobe Audition?
i know ProTools has Beat Detective. -i heard it does a good job, while keeping the drums still sounding natural.
i googled every term i could think of for it, but couldn't really find anything except for BD.

just let me know, if any of you know of or use any software that would help.
thanks!
-jordan

Bust his chops and retake Razz

Melodyne Studio 3 will do it, from what I've read. However it's alot more than the plugin which wont work with Audition.

I wrote some software to do that before I got Pro Tools. My software is a pain to use however. You have to make a click stem, and a snare stem as 16bit mono WAV (only one format supported) Then you run a command line to align the two. It makes a new WAV file that you import into your DAW.

Iit aligns the snare hits with the nearest click on the click track.

You can send me the drums - upload to my iDisk, FTP them yourself or mail a DVD... for a small fee I can whip them in shape. With both Beat Detective and now Elastic audio, there really isn't a program that does this as fast & easy as Pro Tools (along with sounding Great).

To do it in Pro Tools though, even LE it'll cost about a grand to get the music production-pack (necessary for more than one track of BD).

I've done tracks succesfully without Beat Detective using just the Elastic Audio feature..etc. Either way a tiny bit of a learning curve. But fairly easy if you know what your doing.

good luck
