ok.. im running sonar 4 producer edition and reason 4, rewired..
I am basically trying to have reason play, and then I record my guitar on sonar..
the problem I am having, is that even though Im playing on time with the beat from reason, when I playback, its off ever so slightly.. if I monitor the guitar track, there is a nice latency between when I hit the strings and when I hear it through the pc..
I have messed with the audio latency stuff for a while now, and Im beginning to think its hardware.. but I have done this before on a stock onboard sound card, and it worked fine..
even when I am not monitoring the the guitar tracks audio, i can still see the latency on the audio meter..
can anyone shed some light on this? |

What are you using for an audio interface?
You can check if it is a hardware problem (and not a rewire problem) by recording some audio, then physically routing it from your output to your input and recording it on another track in Sonar. When I record with my software, I hear a small latency when recording, but the DAW compensates by where it places the recorded material, so when it plays back it is in the right place. If Sonar is not doing that, then you should be able to adjust the latency to compensate in Sonar. |

It ain't working no more
You can only expect those little on board things to do so much. And when you tax a system out with intensive professional software plus rewiring...well, there ya have it! |
