Hello all,
OK first the link: www.riversend.net.au/downloads/the_bankers_lament.mp3
I've been working very hard with the mix of this song: 'The Bankers Lament' - I think I've kinda lost perspective though. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated (especially the nit-picky ones i.e.: 'perhaps a tad too much 550khz OR X needs a few more % panning' etc).
I'm looking to have this sounding as professional as possible - though not too polished and clean, I want to retain a live, slightly edgy sound as well.
Thank y'all,
T. North

Interesting track dude. Cool sounds. A non-fatiguing sound.
Only suggestion I could make is that it sounds kind of far away. And not in the normal way. I only really noticed it when I walked into the kitchen from my listening position, it didn't sound like I had walked away from the stereo...
I dunno, when I got back I just kept thinking it was hollow, missing the richness that you lose when you leave the room... Yeah, nit-picky and not very helpful. Sorry. |

Hi greener,
Believe it or not you helped me to discover the cause of all my mixing woes, you were right it all felt too reverbed, flattened everything - I later discovered that my room verb (through which every single track was routed) had been set to a 'hall' type verb. As soon as I changed that back to 'room' type, things started to fall into place.
Thanks matey! |
