This may sound silly or widely used but I picked up some used office partitions at a outlet store that sells used office eqipment.
They happen to work great. I got plenty to go around the drums with a somked plexi one for the center so I could see the drummer. And smaller ones for the guitar amps.
Hope this could work for someone as well. |

While not 'perfect', this is a very good method of knocking down some reflections and getting some basic isolation in a live room.
Office partitions are sound rated. Some reflect, some absorb...you can test them in a basic way by simply bending over and shouting into the partition. If its loud then it relects, if its dead it absorbs. Choose carefully when you set a bunch up so you dont create issues with the sound you're trying to control with the control itself!
More isolation can be had by draping heavy packing blankets or packing quilts over the frames.
I have used these for years. |
