I was curious if anybody knows of an analysis plug-in that will give a 3-D snapshot of a track as follows:
1) Frequency plot (EQ)
2) Panning plot
3) Volume plot
In addition, the plug should be able to layer 2 or more tracks (different colors?) so that comparisons can be made between analyses.
I have read in several journals that each instrument or voice needs to occupy it's own spot in the mix. There are usually 3-D diagram examples that show visually what this means. Usually the plots are EQ, Panning, and Reverb (spacial relationships), but I am not sure how you could plot this spacial relationship.
Any ideas if this exists, or how it can be done now if it doesn't exist? |

Doublehelix,
I haven't personally seen this plug-in for Protools (my platform) or any others (less experience with, may exist), but I will say I would pay good money for this plug-in. It is exactly what I have been looking for, as I track drums with nine to eleven mikes and could use the analysis tool. Cheers, Doc. |
