I wanted to know if anyone on here lives in a "hot spot" or just an area that is really happening. I lived in Richmond,VA for 15 years(not a hot spot) Now I live in Scranton,PA 2 years (everybody wants to know why I would move here) cause it's not a hot spot.
I really enjoy hard rock and heavy metal. I am looking down the road to relocate. Whatever it takes to get things going in the right direction.

I'm a big fan of Austin Tx. Every kind of music and pretty laid-back people. Summers are hot as F#%& but you can drink beer in a car while packing a gun, sounds pretty metal to me.

Texas....
That sounds like a dream come true. But is there alot of metal music down there?
For some reason when I think for Texas I always picture Ar Lee Ermy screaming "only thing that comes from Texas are steers and queers", and I picture guys like George W. Bush everywhere.... Shocked yikes!
I do believe that Pantera was from Texas. But Dimebags father was a country musician and they got alot of their help from his dads connections in the music biz. At least thats what I heard.... Embarassed
But I do love the heat. And this damn Pennsylvainia wheather is fuckin cold.

Might want to check out Atlanta. A ton of music happening there. Good clubs too, like Ten High, I think the Echo Lounge is there, and some other great places who's names escape me. There's a big retro scene, but also a lot of heavy stuff. And of course lots of hip-hop.

Heres the next question....
Where do you live? And what is the scene (mostly made of music wise) where you are at?
I know you guy's are from all over the planet. Mostly U.S.A.
Come on...lets hear what is happening where you are.

Here in the Chicago area it is a hot spot for indie rock/emo bands. There are millions of them running around with their moppy hair, truck hats, tight pants, and whiny music.

Chicago was picking up with a lot of metal/nu-metal bands for a while, but that seems to have died out. I'm thinking that Chicago might be the next L.A. or New York when it comes to recording, but a wierd mutant of it with home studios. There are a lot of bigger bands doing their work out of little home studios around here. Or maybe I just tell that to myself so I sleep better after seeing my credit card statement.

Who knows....Chicago is a good place...I like it more and more everyday.

I wouldn't go to atlant its a "hot spot" but its more of a hip hop area... Tampa or Miami florida would be a good choice im from orlando and its ok here for more punk and pop rock bands but evrybody is in tampa it is a place were there are tons of local bands playin at clubs and just about every major band goes there on tours plus if you are in tampa you are an hour away from orlando and about 2 away from miami so you will be close to alot of different things.

Surprisingly enough, Alaska has one hell of a music scene. I've heard that we have more active musicians per capita than any other state (remember that our total population is only about 627,000). As for genres, Lots of folk, native music, also lots of indie rock, emo and all that kind of stuff, pretty much everything really. The great thing about it is that all the bands and artists really pull together well to make stuff happen, it's not anywhere near as competitive as say L.A. or Seattle. It's more of a "We're all in this together" kinda vibe. Way cool.

The down side is that the venues seem do be slowly disappearing.

Portland yo! Especially if yer Emoesque or an anarchist tattoed indie rocker! Really though, the scene is taking off for all styles. (Indie type stuff, but todays indie is tomorrows mainstream sometimes.)
