Is there a generic (non Auralex) version of Mineral Fiber? Maybe a material that the Home Depot sells? |

Goto a local building supplier, and haggle. You'll get it far cheaper than Home Depot

I contacted a local insulation supply house and found it from a company called "Certainteed". I am not sure off hand what their product name for it is. I got a case of (6) 2'x4'x2" panels for about $65.00. I didn't think that was too bad. I then went to a fabric store and found some fabric and wrapped the panels like christmas presents and hung them on the walls. They work great. |

Thanks for all the tips! I also went to a hardware store and found a sound insulation board, that looks similar, for about $8 a 4 x 8 sheet. It would be equivilent to the 2" stuff that Auralex is selling. |

Doesn't sound like the right stuff to me.

That sounds expensive.
I paid about $20 ( UK equivalent ) for a six pack of 2' x 4' x 2" rockwool slabs from a local building supplier.
