Thanks Michael,

I need to replace and test an absorber, direct solder one of my units and make some "super" power cords to replace my exiting ones... then I will be at a point where i can start working while still be able to modify units Laughing

Best Regard,

Thanks!

Rune, I'm using the Audionote Baransu amplifiers.
If you look carefully in the left and right corner of the photo you can see the 300B's.
Are you familiar with those amplifiers?

Themusicmaker,
the N800's new go for $16,000 & $20,000 depending on if you want the standard or the signature. I almost never see used ones on the market.

Henrik,

Nice picture. I'm glad the console worked out for you. Are you going to keep the video monitor in front of you? What kind of speakers are you using?

Pictures of my room are going up on our new web site. There is 1 or 2 up already. Check out the site and let me know what you think.

Yes I am, I find it better than having it to one of the sides.
I have tested the difference ind sound with/without the monitor and it's not dramatic... if I had the monitor to one of the sides I would hear it too and that sounds like unballance in the stereo picture.
So I desited to go for the symetri and place it in the middle.
...the console also takes out some of the mids, but that's another story!

Quote:

I use the Audionote ANE/SEC silver speakers.
A truly great speaker in many ways, I haven't heard anything that comes even close to this! ...needless to say more.

I've seen those pictures... very nice Joe!!
Why do you have the monitor to the side? Very Happy

I need to take some new pics. maybe i'll do that next week.

I also like my monitors in the center. I like to keep my head forward. I guess it can mess with the imaging a little, but not as much as when my head is turned. All my metering and such is on my monitors and I like to be able to just move my eyeballs to look at it.

hi there once again..... we'll keep it in english this time....

yes i have heard the audionote amps..... i think it's the same type as lehnert of dandisc had??

absolutely sweetsounding!!! for hifi i would kill for them!!!

BUT!!

amps based on the 300B tube is THE most UNlinear amps in the world!! no matter how sensitive your speakers are (and i know yours are) you're gonna drive them into (even more) distortion!!

as much as i like the sound of tubes (i switch on 56 tubes every morning) i think it's extremely dangerous to master or mix with a tube amp!!!

i would like to debate the use of hifi- (sorry: hi-end)-gear in mastering!

any opinions????

or should i start another thread???

regards + respect

I also find tube amps to be a little misleading and a little forgiving. I love to listen to them but find it hard to work on them. But anything can be learned and you get to know how they react.
