36 input Neve console frame available taking offers

AnnouncementsRemyRAD writes: Ms. Remy Ann David is selling off her second Neve console frame. It is a 36 input mainframe designed for NBC-TV with 20X20 mix minus matrix circa 1978, serial number 3869. It has an intact wiring harness assembly that is 30 feet long to goldplated multipin connectors. A full cluster of patch bays with matching multipin connectors plugs right into the wiring harness assembly and is included along with power supplies and full do*****entation. Drop in some 3115 or other 3000 series modules and start tracking.

All modules have been removed and only the monitoring and output control surfaces, some meters, some faders, etc. remain. Numerous input, output, summing amplifiers, equalizers, etc. will be made available in a later posting but are not enough for a complete console.

I'm currently accepting offers for the 1978 Neve console frame. Serial number 3869. It is currently located 10 miles west of Frederick Maryland sitting in the middle of the studio floor and is available for inspection. I am the second owner after having used it for nearly 20 years for NBC. Pictures are also available. Preferable to pick up and I will provide the six people needed to load it into your vehicle.

There's a huge famous history to this particular console frame. This is 1 of 2 identical consoles commissioned in 1974 and installed in 1978 at NBC-TV Washington DC. I remember seeing them in 1981 when I started and I began using these consoles in 1984 and continued using them through their decommissioning.

This console belonged to studio A at NBC-TV Washington DC and was kept in service the longest of the 2. It was the primary console for Meet the Press for over 20 years. The today show and NBC's Nightly News from Washington DC. The McLaughlin series of shows. Numerous presidential debates. It was in daily use until it was decommissioned in 2004, when I got it. I also have the matching console, serial number 3868. This is why this particular console frame does not have enough modules to make a complete console. I have utilized numerous modules from this console to augment my matching console still installed since 1996 in my current facility.

Some modules are currently available in as is condition. They include the fabulous 3115 microphone preamp/equalizer module that is quite similar to the well known 1073. All of these modules are class A input's with class A/B outputs. The 3415 summing amplifier/output amplifier will convert very nicely to a beautiful microphone preamp. And the I/O module, 3726 which has 4 bus output switching, plus a stereo panning output and 4 effects sends. This module can also be easily modified into an excellent microphone preamp with all of these additional features.

I have been hesitant to selloff an historic board such as this. I really wanted to combine the 2 and use it my own studio but don't have the room. I'll hate to see it go especially since I used it for nearly 20 of its 30 years for NBC TV network news production. Are you ready for a piece of history?
