| jazzgoa writes: Lotus Cafe regulars consider the Brown Indian Band part of the furniture even though, they haven't been playing here that long. Maybe it's because the guys are propped up on couches at the JW Marriott hotel's lobby. And no, they don't play lounge music, their sound is a unique fusion of jazz and Indian classical styles. "We always wanted to create and showcase our own music," says the bandleader and bassplayer Colin D'Cruz, who with their manager Ravi Nayar, dreamt up this hybrdised style. "However this remained a dream because of a lack of platform to perform. This only became a reality when the JW Marriott hotel came up with a platform to showcase this innovative style of music."

looking for a manager or label |
| Anonymous Pro Audio Members writes: This is a relatively new band 'A Paper Tiger' and what a sound. These
guys are hard working on being the next greatest thing out of Philly.
They deserve a break.
They just finished recording and have put the tunes to CD. There will
be mailings to follow but, I believe most companies won't accept
unsolisited music.
Would it be too much to ask if someone tuned into
http://www.myspace.com/apapertigermusic You won't be sorry!!!

The Gousters hit the 32nd Spot on Roots Music Report |
| Anonymous Pro Audio Members writes: "The Gousters" climbed to the 32nd spot on Roots Music Report on 3-31-06. Walt Cronin met Zander Schloss on the set of a now cult film called "Repo Man" by Alex Cox. Zander played the part of "Kevin" opposite Emilio Estevez' character "Otto." Harry Dean Stanton had the lead role. Zander went on to writing many of the soundtracks for Alex on "Sid & Nancy" and "Straight to Hell" writing with Joe Strummer on that film. Walt videotaped the auditions.
Zander is also the bass player for "The Circle Jerks' a founding punk band in Los Angeles. Walt reunited with Zander when Zander rented the studio apt over Walt's garage and thus began the collaboration on "The Gousters" five years in the making. Three years were spent in the basement and two years at Brian Susko's Westside Recorder Studio in Santa Monica. It was there that musician friends helped lay down the lush violin backgrounds and other intrumentals heard on a number of the songs.
Three of the songs are from Zander's former band "Low & Sweet Orchestra" with James Fearnely of "The Pogues" on accordion and Dermot Mulrooney, now an actor. The band was dropped with a few hundred other artists from Interscope Records during the late 90's culling.
Walt Cronin is a Vietnam Veteran with Post-Traumatic Stress having served as a Navy Corpsman (medic) with a Marine platoon in Vietnam in 1970.
It is their wish to find ( or be found) by a label and establish a publishing deal. They are the only band listed on Roots Music Report with a Demo CD. Running Times Music commented: "It's almost unheard of but hope this is an indicator of the Indies being taken more seriously." They hope to continue to get more airplay and the consideration of someone in the business to take a good hard "listen" to what they have accomplished so far.

| road_weary writes: Hi people!
My name is Miles Jackson. I've been working on some old projects here recently while I've had a bit of time, and I have put together a collection of songs I call "Moods of Ma-Me-O"
I would like you to have a copy, but with manufacturing costs and all.... you know...
So I am inviting you to listen to or download the songs and burn your own CD, or just load them into your i-pods and have a listen. Do a print-screen and make your own album cover! Almost as much fun as shoplifting! :-) The material is copyrighted through SOCAN, so you are not supposed to make more copies for your friends....
The songs are all instrumental, and I've had the help of Tom McKillip on guitar and sax, Bob Day on Flugelhorn, Greg Stuart on drums on some trax, and even John Thiel appears on a track, playing guitar.
Seriously, I hope you enjoy some of the songs, and please stop by my website and have a look around! I try to change it often, and I'm trying to set up a site where I can sell CD's of our artists online. If you can think of any "remunerative application" for any of the songs, I'd, of course, be all ears! If you care to send a donation, my address is on the page!
Thanks for listening, and it would be great to hear your feedback!
I guess I should have mentioned....
Go to the download page, http://www.ma-me-o.com/Miles/Moods/moods.html
Then click on the titles on the album cover to listen to them (mp3 files) or right-click and select "Save target as...." to download them to your computer. Make sure you download them to a folder where you can find again (Don't you HATE when that happens?!), then use winamp or windows media player to listen to them or burn them onto a CD....
Cheers, and happy spring!
Miles
